Beavers Face ‘Tough Assignment’ In Hartlepool

Beverley RUFC resume their battle against relegation from National League 3 (North) with a tough assignment at West Hartlepool on Saturday.

Unfortunately they will have to do so without their contingent of Yorkshire Under 20’s players, Tom Moody, Mike Bradshaw, Ben Johnson and Tom Bagnall who all were part of the successful squad which beat Cheshire in last week’s County Championship semi final and they will, no doubt, be required for the Final this Sunday.

In addition to their other long term injured, the Beavers will also be without fly half Phil Duboulay who’s broken leg will keep him out for the remainder of the campaign and lock Gavin Gibson who undergoes surgery on Thursday.

Head Coach Anthony Posa said today, “Going to West Hartlepool and winning is always a tall order, but we have been playing well recently and the replacements that we have brought into the first team squad have all done well. We have a great team spirit and we know what we have to do. We have produced some good results against top teams and we are not short of confidence despite our set-backs.”

Beverley will select from the following squad :-

Richard Bussey, Goran Jelencic, S.Gene, Junior Tupai(capt), R.Smith, Ian Archibald, J.Howdell, C.Infield, M.Hatfield, K.Renwick, Francis Pickering, , M.Alderson, J.Stephenson, D.Hodgson, F.Hopa, B.Hannam, M.Shaw, Manu Kirkwood, J.Graham,
