Hope Barratt Scores Three As United Beat Goole

Mill Lane United continued their winning ways in the East Riding Girls Football League with a visit to Goole Town Girls in a hard fought match that saw United claim victory.

The first quarter of the game had both sides testing each others defences until Lane opened the scoring with a strike from Hope Barratt after pressure on the Goole defence by Alex Clarke forced them into an error.

Goole were not to be outdone and from the kick off hit back with an equaliser, but towards the end of the second half great interplay by Lane through the midfield of Chloe Davision allowed Lane’s Hope Barratt in again with her second goal.

Goole came out fighting in the second half and despite excellent defence from Lane cover a stunning long ball strike from Goole saw the ball ricochet off the post and into the Lane net.

Determined running from Rebecca Long and dynamic ball work from Isobel Gillyon released Connie Forward for Lane’s third goal of the match with the team consolidating their lead with two further strikes from Isobel Gillyon and a completed hat trick from Hope Barratt.

It has to be said that Goole were kept at bay on many occasions by the stalwart defence of Millie Gray (Captain) and Ellie Macmillan coupled with concentrated mid-field cover from Isabelle Dodds and superb goal keeping from Chloe Hakeney.
