Major Award Stuns Festival of Christmas Founder

Founder and Chairman of The Beverley Festival of Christmas John Bird is “shocked but delighted” that one of Beverley’s flagship events has won a top award.

Last Thursday at the Country Park Inn on Hessle Foreshore, The Beverley Festival of Christmas beat off competition from Hull Ferens Art Gallery’s Hockney Exhibition and the Hull Comedy Festival and the Beverley Folk Festival.

John told HU17.net:

“We were very surprised to be nominated, we never thought we would win. It was shock but we are delighted to have won this award.”

The Beverley Festival of Christmas attracts over 50,000 people to the town. And with over 100 stalls and countless other activities, the event continues to grow in popularity.

John continued: “Plans are already well under way for this year’s event, which is scheduled for December 12th.

“All the favourites like Santa Claus will be there. It will be bigger and better than ever.”
