Police Appeal After Woman Sexually Assaulted On Grovehill Road

Humberside Police are appealing for information following an incident which took place close to Pizza Fez, Grovehill Road, Beverley between 0200hrs and 0250hrs on Monday 09 April 2012.

A 21 year old woman was walking alone, after she has been drinking in a public house in Beverley, when she was approached by an unknown man.

The woman and the man walked together for a short distance before the woman told the man she was safe to walk home alone, but he continued to walk about six paces behind her.

As the woman reached the Pizza Fez, the man was still following her and she is alleged to have told him again, she will be ok to be walk alone from here on.

The man is then alleged to have leaned his head towards her, which gave her the impression he was going to kiss her.

The woman declined and as she moved away the man pulled her head towards his, before she managed to push him away. This resulted in the contents of her handbag being spilt on the floor.

As the woman collected her belongings, the man walked away towards the train station.

The offender is described a man of Oriental origin, approximately 5ft 9″ tall, slim to stocky build. He had black hair, quite long on the top and short at the sides, wearing black and white t-shirt with horizontal stripes and dark blue jeans.
