East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s fostering service is to hold an information event about becoming foster carers.
The Find Out About Fostering event is to be held at Tickton Grange Hotel, Tickton, near Beverley on Wednesday, 18 April starting at 6pm.
The event is aimed at people who are considering becoming foster carers and at the event people will be able to speak to carers and young people who are involved in the fostering process.
There will also be the opportunity to speak to fostering social workers.
Dave Glenville, fostering team leader at East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: “Almost anyone can apply to be a foster carer, but as with any career, some people will be more suited to it than others.
“This event is designed to give people who may be thinking about fostering the opportunity to find out more information, dispel any myths and meet people who are actually involved in foster care.
“This can be the start of a journey that can have rewards for everyone involved and can change lives forever.”
