Hull FC suffered their first defeat of the Super League season at the KC Stadium as Wigan ran riot scoring eight tries.
The final score may have been harsh on the Black and Whites but a ruthless Wigan side took full advantage of weakened Hull FC side.
Any hopes Hull had of a turnaround in the second half lasted just two minutes. With their first set of the half Wigan scored again, Richards completing his hat-trick with a trademark catch from a cross-field kick by Brett Finch.
Hull FC did manage two tries of their own against the Challenge Cup holders but lacked a clinical edge in attack.
