Confident Performance Against Warriors

It was important for the Beverley Braves to bounce back after the previous week and they did just that in style.

Myton kicked the ball to start the game and it came to Joe Wardill who accelerated from his own line up the field running from one wing and across the pitch to plant the ball firmly over the white wash to show Myton just what the Braves were made of.

Within the next few minutes yet another fantastic pass from James McGahey found Wardills unstoppable run for another try on the board. Owen Harrison added the conversion. Confidence high and the team relaxed the skills out there could be shown to their full potential.

Dylan Clifford broke through a wall of Myton players with power to then have a clear run to score an excellent try. A great offload then found Harrison who sprinted superbly down his wing and then Darren Benstead charged through anyone who dares to get in his path for a try which displayed all his strength.

Harry Bell as hooker side stepped his way through a bagful of tackles to find a gap and complete an excellent try. Clifford added to his tally with another twisting energetic drive placing the ball firmly under the sticks and the whistle blew with 36 points scored with no reply.

The second half continued where the previous had left off. A superb long pass out wide landed cleanly in the hands of Harrison who sold a stunning dummy to the defender and crossed over.

Myton continued to battle hard though and pressure had to be soaked up with some big hits in the middle from Connor Davies and Harry Bullyment which were executed with precision and out wide from Conor Egan. Bell took the ball into the defensive line again and again releasing the ball just before being tackled to gain precious yards for the Braves. He made a lovely little grubber kick to the corner which a very brave Tom Wood dived on to score.

A confident team try followed with the ball passing through many hands to find Bailey Foulston who dived courageously over the line. Beverley did not ease up with Harry Gray and Clifford tackling hard and forcing Myton to spill the ball and the last try was from a brilliant pass from Keegan Bartlett to find James Sherwin who used his blistering pace to outrun all defenders.

Credit must go to Myton who even in the last few minutes put pressure on the Beverley line and forced the defence to dig deep and hold strong. Solid defence from Callum Officer and Callam Bielby helped keep the opposition from scoring though today.

Great support play was exhibited by the Braves and they dominated the play by completing their sets and controlling the ball. Man of the Match to Harry Bell who added another dimension to this skilful side.
