Longcroft Students to Tour Ireland with Hull City

Four students from Longcroft School and Performing Arts College, have been selected to join Hull FC on their tour of Northern Ireland in July 2012. Danny Naldrett (14), Keelan Proctor (15), Daniel Bennett (15) and Joshua Clackstone (15) will get the opportunity to work with their local footballing heroes and all of them are excited about this unique opportunity. They will be taking part in the Foyle Cup Tournament.

This is not the first time some of the boys have played football abroad. Keelan Proctor explained:

“I’ve been in the youth teams since I was 8 and travelled to Holland with them twice and Ireland once before. It’s will be great to go back there again with the rest of the team.”

However, for Danny Naldrett this will be his first time away with the team. He said:

“I’m really looking forwards to the experience of playing in this tournament. I want to become a professional player and being part of this team and playing for the Foyle Cup will help to get me there.”

Adam King, Curriculum Leader of P.E., said:

“This is an amazing opportunity for these four lads. Not only will they be able to work on their technical skills, but they will also see all the background work that goes into running a football club – alongside the players there are also many ‘back room’ staff, from physiotherapists to nutritionists. We hope the boys have a fantastic time and look forward to hearing about their experiences.”
