The Durham Ox Steak Burger, With Extras

Yesterday afternoon while having my bike serviced I stopped off at the Durham Ox for lunch.

Last time I ate there I had steak and chips but on the advice of landlord Ian Pollard, I tried one of the steak burgers.

Ian told me the burgers were home made with steak, looking at the menu I notice they had an option to include bacon, cheese and an additional burger; I took all three options, as you do.

Sat in their beer garden enjoying some sun and a nice cold pint of Carling the meal arrived.

On the plate was a massive great burger with a great big skewer through it holding it together, the cheese running down the sides, it looked lovely!

Surround with plenty of chips and fresh salad I started to wonder if I had bitten off more than I could chew. The only way I could manage to eat was to spilt it into two, needless to say I forced myself to eat it all, I did not need much encouragement as it tasted as good as it looked.

The cost of my lunch was £8.45 and was worth every penny; it really was a good value considering I went a little over the top on the extras and something I will certainly be eating again.
