Patrington Beat Beverley In Newland League

Beverley Town Cricket Club suffered their second consecutive defeat on Tuesday night in the Newland Evening League.

Patrington, batting first set Beverley a target of 104 on a glorious night for cricket at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Peter Groves who is regarded as a batsman showed off his bowling skills picking up two wickets for Beverley with Jamie Roe and And Hampson also getting two wickets each.

Beverley however they were just not able to get the required runs managing just 94 runs, Matthew Mudd opened the batting with skipper Tony Spence.

Spence failed to get going and within just a few balls was on his way back pavilion capping off an uneventful evening from the skipper.

Mudd looked comfortable hitting a few boundaries before he chipped straight back to the bowler presenting him with the simplest of catches.

Beverley Town CC return to action in the Newland League in two weeks time with an away trip to Cottingham.
