Beverley Leisure Complex will be hosting a wide range of swimming lessons this summer with everything from basic beginner’s classes to sessions for budding Olympians.
As an added bonus this year, all children who join one of the weekly crash course lessons will receive an East Riding Swim card that will give them free casual swimming for the following five weeks.
The centre is offering weekly crash course swimming lessons throughout the summer for children aged from three years upwards. The different lessons work through the council’s award scheme from pre-school awards up to grade four.
Also available for the first time are crash courses for one-to-one tuition, for children of any ability who would benefit from some individual support.
For children interested in doing something different, the centre is offering a range of stroke clinics and special taster sessions. Stroke improvement clinics are available for back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly and front crawl, as well as sessions on starts and turns for the budding competitive swimmer. Taster sessions are also available for mini polo, snorkelling, synchronised swimming and diving.
Children can also try for distance swimming badges every Friday during the holidays, whether its 5m or 1500m, or a Brownie and Guide or Cub and Scout badge award, an instructor will be available to supervise attempts but an adult maybe required to help with lap counting.
All lessons and specific sessions are available for booking and payment now, so to avoid disappointment, contact the centre on (01482) 395231 for further details.
