Groves Scores Century But Beverley Lose To Dunnington

A Peter Groves century was the highlight of a day that saw Beverley Town Cricket Club beaten by Dunnington as they lost by seven wickets at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

On pitch that was perfect for batting openers Faisal Abid and Peter Groves gave Beverley a great platform as they put on more than 100 runs.

Groves had a few close shaves, but with his parents watching battled through scoring the all-important runs that took him to his century.

After passing 100, Groves seemed to take more risks and was finally caught out on 105 after a failed sweep shot saw the ball present the wicket keeper the simplest of catches.
