Karen Smith Joins Radiographers Presidential Team

Karen Smith, a therapeutic radiographer at the Queen’s Centre for Oncology and Haematology at Castle Hill Hospital, was elected Vice President of the Society and College of Radiographers last week. She has represented Yorkshire and North Trent region on the society’s UK council since 2008.

Speaking after the announcement, which was made at the May Council Meeting, Karen said:

“I am hugely grateful to have been elected to the position of Vice President and also thankful for the faith shown in me by UK Council.”

“I have been overwhelmed at the support and good wishes from colleagues, friends and family at this amazing news. I have always been immensely proud to be a radiographer and am still so enthusiastic about radiographers and all that they do, sometimes in very challenging and difficult circumstances.”

“I am looking forward to contributing to the ongoing work of our great organisation in all four countries.”
