Open Day Sees The Beginning Of a New Era For Continuum School Beverley

In recent months Continuum Care and Education has successfully merged with the care provider Advanced Childcare. To celebrate and inform people of our new services we offer, an open day was held this week.

Continuum School Beverley opened its doors on Wednesday lunch time to a number of professionals from local authorities and carers from the East Riding who visited the school and were impressed with the education we offer, conversations from ex pupils, work on display and successes and achievements.

As School Manager I could not have felt any prouder at the real sense of collaboration which permeated the school. It was a personal pride that welcomed past pupils and carers who volunteered to come and let our visitors know how important the school is to them and also present pupils and staff who did an exemplar job, from signing in our visitors, making tours of the school, to preparing the buffet lunch. Their warmth and confidence provided a real sense of what our school is all about as we want our pupils to feel safe and happy.

Advanced Childcare and Education offers residential, therapeutic, fostering and specialist education services, making us the UK’s largest provider of specialist children’s care and education. Nationally, we have over 143 specialist children’s homes, 14 SEBD school, over 80 local authority partnerships and a wide range of specialist services tailored to meet the needs of every individual child.

Although we have merged the school will remain named Continuum School Beverley, however as an education provider we are now know as Advanced Education. The Continuum School Beverley still remains a school for students with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties and is an alternative to mainstream school. We offer specialist education to pupils aged between 10 and 18 and pupils are placed from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.

The school follows the national curriculum although each pupil has a bespoke education programme designed around their own needs and ability. As well as the national curriculum subjects we also offer a comprehensive vocational and outdoor programme, injecting life into our curriculum and tailoring qualifications for the UK’s economy.

Anyone wishing to enquire about our service can visit our website at: www.advancededucation.co.uk or call the school direct on 01482 307830.
