This week has seen a festival of sport taking place at Longcroft School with activities including Frisbee Golf, Darts, Curling, Volley Ball, Track and Field events.
There has also been support from Beverley Leisure Centre where a swimming gala took place on Wednesday and Burden Rd Youth Centre hosting the pool competition on Thursday.
Teams from all over the East Riding converged on Longcroft School on Monday for a grand opening ceremony with over 300 competitors taking part throughout the week which finished on Friday with a Boccia and Five Aside Football competition referred by Dean Windass, former Hull City Star.
The whole event was organised by Adult Education Dept, Adult Services and Longcroft School staff. Funding for the event was provided by Beverley Lions, Beverley Building Society, Blue Keld Water and Beverley Tesco’s.
Peter Myers, Chief Executive of the Beverley Building Society, told HU17.net;
“We are very proud to support the sports events at Longcroft school, which like the Society, works very closely with the Beverley community”.
