Eleven members of Beverley Athletic Club took part in last Sunday’s Jim Dingwall Elloughton 10k. It is usually a hot and sunny day for this race and this year was no exception.
Starting and finishing at Brantingham Park the race follows a flat rural course in and around Elloughton and consists of a small loop followed by a large loop.
In fourth place and the first Beverley AC runner to finish was James Pearson. He has not been on his best form for some weeks but is running consistently. He finished in 34:52.
Alan Flint was delighted to record a new personal best of 40:44, beating his previous best by 22 seconds. He also won first prize in the V60 category.
At the other end of the age scale, Beverley AC Juniors also performed well in the 10k. Brother and sister Curtis and Kendall Arnott had excellent runs and recorded course best times of 46:18 and 49:38 respectively.
The Arnott family was also represented in the one-mile fun run. Taylor finished in 5:59 in fourth place overall and was the third boy to finish. He is enjoying a run of excellent form and will be delighted to have improved on last year’s performance when he finished in 6:36 and in 21st place. His sister Dayna followed in 6:09 in sixth place and was the second girl to finish. The third girl to complete the course was Beverley’s Morgan Dennis in 6:14 and in eighth place overall.
There were 63 finishers in the fun run which was won by Luke Chapman of Hull Achilles in 5:39. He was followed closely by his elder sister Jessica in 5:43.
