Phillip Render has retired from his role as a Non Executive Director of Beverley Building Society after 26 years on the Board.
Mr Render said; “During my time on the Board the assets of the Society have increased from £13m to £172m and the financial services market has seen many changes.
The Beverley continues to be East Yorkshires only independent Building Society, and has remained true to its founding principles of looking after savers and helping local people buy homes since 1866.”
Mr Render will be succeeded by Mike Heenan, the former Chief Executive of the Stafford Railway Building Society, who is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years experience in Financial Services.
Mr Heenan acted as interim Chief Executive of the Beverley Building Society, for 9 months prior, to the appointment of Peter Myers.
Mr Heenan said;
“I am a firm believer in the value of Mutuals and in particular local building societies. The Beverley Building Society has a fantastic heritage, market leading mortgage and savings products, and very strong support from the local community. I am very much looking forward to working with new colleagues.”
The Society’s Chairman, Stuart Young said;
“I would like to thank Philllip for all the hard work and support he has given to the Society over the last 26 years. In Mike Heenan I think we have found a worthy replacement who has a wealth of financial services experience, and I am looking forward to working with him.
