Beverley Fire Station Open Day Is A Blazing Success

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service held their annual family day at Beverley Fire Station.

A very good turnout was helped by sunshine stayed out long enough to make for a top day.

The firefighters gave a number of demonstrations that included the now-famous chip pan, which needed two attempts to light.

A new feature this year was an exploding aerosol can which members from the German fire service in Lemgo; the town twinned with Beverley, brought over for the event.

Mayor of Beverley Margaret Pinder, also joined in the fun allowing small children to throw wet sponges at her!
