Inter Beaver boss Lewis Jenkinson is already feeling the pressure after just one game as he watched his side go down 3 – 2 against Sam Allon at Furlow Avenue.
Lewis who has brought in a host of big names is keen to win the club their first trophy in years and will be disappointed that his side failed to get anything from their first match.
Inter started the game slowly and looked out of sorts; their passing lacked any conviction, and it was not long before they found themselves behind.
Trailing by a single goal Inter soon got back on level terms after some smart play saw Dave Barley play a cross field ball to Stew Scott, who drew the keeper before crossing for Tom Davies to head home.
The lead did not last long as the visitors regained the lead after a free kick led to a goal mouth scramble which saw a Sam Allon player toe poke the ball home.
New signing Michael O’connell got Inter back on level terms but again, the visitors capitalised on a defensive error by Inter to score their third and what proved to be their decisive goal.
Lewis said after the game;
“We did play much better in the second half but over all we were well off the pace. We never looked like winning this match but the side were pleasing in in parts.”
“As a team we need to improve, we certainly have the players but it will take time for them to gel.”
