This Saturday professional boxing returns to Hull with ‘The Main Event’ that will feature six bouts of profressional boxing.
Beverley will have two fighters taking part in the show, Vincent Collingwood and Louis Hubbard.
But the spotlight will be on former Beverley Grammar school student Samir Mouneimne who tops the bill as he continues to close in on a shot at the Commonwealth Title, currently held by Welshman Lee Selby.
Samir says he is the best shape possible ahead of the fight praising the guys around him, he said;
“There is no doubt I have got the best team around me; I am in great condition thanks to Mike, Jimmy, Paul and Danny, who have worked really hard with me in the gym.”
Coach Paul Kershaw is equally impressed with the fighter describing the featherweight as the real deal.
Two other fighters from St Pauls, Zak Collins and Cameron Stevenson will also be on the card as they look to maintain their winning records.
Cameron told HU17.net;
“I am feeling great; the training camp has gone really well and I am Looking forward to showing a new me and improving my record. I would like to thank my uncle Shaun for all his support over the past 12 weeks.”
St Paul’s Amateur Boxing Academy has a received a lot of coverage not just locally but also globally since one of their fighters, Luke Campbell returned home from London 2012 with a gold medal.
Luke will be making an appearance at the show along with the Sky TV cameras as interest grows in the quality of fighters coming out of the Hull based club.
Mike Bromby and the other coaches at the club will be looking for a repeat of the last event when their fighters won all seven bouts contested.
If this is repeated it is sure to be another eletric night at the Bonus Arena.
