A long journey out for the team on a Sunday morning for the first round in the Yorkshire Cup away to Barnsley.
A team we had never played before . It was to prove to be a fruitful drive out for the Beverley team.
Beverley RUFC showed good form passing along their line giving Ruairi Sinkler the first touch down with Harvey Lazenby neatly converting to start off the scoring .
Beverley dominated scrums driving Barnsley back and allowing pace from Chris Chapman to score one of his six tries in the game .
The forwards owned the ball with rucks and mauls that moved the ball across the pitch giving Jack Vorwerg and Luke Hazell a couple of great tries which again were converted by Harvey Lazenby to give Beverley a half time lead of 40 points nil.
Into the second half Barnsley struggled with discipline . Their attempts to disrupt Beverleys flow were thwarted by a further deluge of points from
Beverley, again Chris Chapman ( Captain ) with 3 more tries and Ben Smith taking a full flight run of the pitch to give him a try . All again converted by the trusty boot of Lazenby.
Beverley were happy to carry on taking the points with Conrad Dean , Luke Hazell and Jack Vorwerg scoring.
The final score 85 – 0 to Beverley .
