Town Knock Walkington Out Of The Cup

Walkington were dumped out of the cup by Beverley Town Reserves at Longcroft School in what assistant boss Phil Mosses described as a tough match.

Town bossed the first-half thanks to a solid performance by their midfield pairing of Phil Gardener and Sam Cox.

Richard Durham, Rauol Lampriere and Chris Whitehead scored the all-important goals to ensure Town made it through to the next round of the cup.

Phil Mosses said;

“In the first half we controlled the game. Walkington made some changes at half time replacing older legs with younger ones and that made for a more difficult second half, but the lads came through.”

Next weekend, Beverley Town Reserves will return to East Riding County League action as they travel to Winifred Holtby School to face St George’s FC.
