Beverley Town FC sneaked a late equaliser to snatch a draw at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Gaffer Dave Ricardo opted to rest key players ahead of next week’s clash with Sculcoates Amateurs and will no doubt look back on this game as two points lost as they missed a whole host of chances in both halves.
Town looked in complete control till keeper Adam Nicholson made a mess of shot that squirmed through his hands to give the visitors the lead.
Town continued to pile forward and eventually got on level term’s thanks to a smart finish from Daniel Kingsly Jnr who lifted the ball over the keeper before tapping into an open goal.
The home side may have gone into half time in the lead though had a goal ruled out for a foul on the Westella & Willerby keeper who had great game.
Beverley pressed hard in the second half, but they were unable to make their dominance count and when they did breach the defence were unable to score.
To add to Town’s frustration Westella & Willerby broke and scored what looked to be the winning the goal with less than 15 minutes to play.
With time ticking away a cross from Luke Thompson fell to Daniel Kingsly Jnr, who bundled the ball in to score his second goal of the game levelling the match with only two minutes remaining.
Town may have nicked the points, but the referee waved away claims for what appeared to be a stone wall penalty after Thompson went down in the box.
Beverley Town FC are now three points behind Humber Premier League leaders North Cave who won seven nil making it forty goals for the season so far, next week Beverley will face much tougher test as they play second placed Sculcoates Amateurs.
