Beverley Lions Bonfire Night Traffic Management

Residents and motorists are advised of the following traffic management for the Beverley Lions Community Bonfire and Firework Display on Monday, 5 November at Beverley Westwood.

For the purpose of maintaining public safety during the event, Keldgate Road, Westwood Road and Walkington Road, will all be subject to part closures. This will inevitably reduce the availability of parking close to the bonfire site.

People attending the bonfire are therefore advised to use the Beverley town centre car parks, which are all free after 6pm, and walk to the site in order to help reduce traffic congestion.

Road closures are as follows:

Walkington Road/Westwood Road closed to east bound traffic into Beverley from the Keldgate Road Junction, opposite the golf club entrance, to Albert Terrace, from 6-7.30 pm. At 7.30pm, Walkington Road and Westwood Road will be closed in both directions until 9.30pm.

Cartwright Lane/Keldgate Road will be closed to westbound traffic, from 6-9.30pm, between Thurstan Road/Sloe Lane crossroads and the junction with Walkington Road, opposite the golf club entrance.

Because of the limited parking available and congestion this has caused in previous years, motorists are advised to avoid parking along Newbald Road.

Anyone wishing to park their vehicles along the highways or verges around the Westwood does so entirely at their own risk.
