Police Appeal Following String Of Slashed Tyres In Swinemoor

Police are appealing for witnesses after a string of vehicle damage incidents in on the Swinemoor Estate in Beverley.

Between Wednesday 17 October and Thursday 18 October, 14 cars were targeted and had their tyres slashed.

All those vehicles targeted have been parked illegally with half the vehicle on the road and the other half on the footpath. In all cases one if not both tyres positioned on the footpath have been slashed with an unknown sharp object.

The police strongly suspect that due to the locality of the offences and the short space of time in which they have occurred, these crimes are being committed by an offender who is unhappy with the recent parking issues in the area.

If you witness anyone acting suspiciously around vehicles in the area then please report it to Humberside police immediately. You can do this by ringing the non-emergency number 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
