On the 12th of November the Mission Christmas Appeal will be launched and the Beverley Building Society is all set to be Beverley’s only drop-off point.
The Mission Christmas Appeal is part of the Cash for Kids charity who support local children from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds. Mission Christmas involves businesses, schools, community groups and individuals donating toys to children in our area who would otherwise wake up to nothing on Christmas morning.
Due to the Beverley Building Society’s central location in Saturday Market Place, the branch will be converted into a drop-off point to allow people to come and donate toys to help support the appeal.
Terrie Oakshott, Charity Fundraiser from the Mission Christmas Appeal said:
“We are delighted to have Beverley Building Society supporting the Mission Christmas Appeal this year. People can support the Appeal by buying an extra gift for a child aged between 0 – 17 years and taking it into Beverley Building Society for us to collect. All toys must be new (due to health and safety regulations) and unwrapped (so we can sort and distribute accordingly). Whatever you can give, big or small, will make a huge difference to local children this Christmas!”
