Beverley Town Reserves were beaten at the Norwood Recreation Ground by South Cave Sporting.
Two goals, one in each half, proved to be the difference between the two sides as Town failed to get anything out of the game against the title contenders.
Town who now sit seventh in the Premier Division of the East Riding County League will hit the road next week as they take on an in form AFC Rovers.
