Local Beverley based dance school ‘Street Beatz ‘ entered their dance crew ‘Scribble’ in the Yorkshire regional street dance championships in Sheffield this month.
After a successful day, they took 1st place in the under 18s advanced category and have now qualified for the European street dance championships for the second-time running, which will be held in Germany next year. On top of that they have also qualified for the world championships which will be held in Glasgow.
It was a very successful day for Streetbeatz dance school as not only taking home the title, they also claimed another 19 trophies from the duo and solo categories in which other members of the school also competed.
The team qualified for the European championships last year where it was held in Disneyland, Paris. With the help of the local community, local businesses and fundraising events, it made it possible for the girls to experience this amazing opportunity and represent the UK. After battling it out against 24 other amazing teams across Europe, they proudly took a massively respectable 4th place.
They have now moved up into the advanced category so were not expecting to qualify again this year as it is so tough. However, once again, they are now representing the UK and also our local town. Most UK teams that compete in the competitions are mainly based down south so it’s nice to see our small town competing against some of the top dance schools not only in the UK but across the globe.
Once again, the school will be doing fundraising events to get the girls to Germany so if there are any local businesses that would like to sponsor the team or help in any way, please contact Clare Moran 07957956600 clare@streetbeatzdance.co.uk
