TESCO CUSTOMERS BUY £1630 WORTH OF FOOD TO HELP FEED PEOPLE IN NEED

Help Feed People In Need took place at Tesco stores across the UK on December 1st and 2nd and proved to be a tremendous success. Customers at Tesco’s Beverley store on Morton Lane bought a staggering £1630 worth of food, which Tesco will top up by 30%. This means food worth a total of £2119 will be distributed to local people in need over the next few weeks.

The event was supported by Councillor Margaret Pinder, the Mayor of Beverley, Councillor Martin Cox, Deputy Mayor of Beverley, Chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council Councillor Chad Chadwick and his wife, Councillor Margaret Chadwick, all of who helped distribute leaflets to customers at the store.

Dave Ryley, Tesco Beverley’s Community Champion, said:

“We would like to thank all of our customers who supported our collection. Thanks to your fantastic generosity, we can provide much needed food for hundreds of local people this Christmas. Once again, thank you!”
