A talent competition aiming to find Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire’s best live music act has been launched in aid of a local children’s charity.
Viking FM and Magic 1161’s Cash For Kids have launched the Big Audition and will be holding heats around the region where people will be able to vote for their favourite act, whilst at the same time raising money for the charity, which helps underprivileged children from this area.
The competition is open to all types of acts playing music from all genres and the grand prize for the eventual winner will be the chance to perform in front of up to 4,000 people at this summer’s Viking FM Brid Bash at The Spa, Bridlington.
Last year’s Brid Bash attracted top chart acts such as Misha B, Lawson, Rizzle Kicks and Newton Faulkner to name but a few.
Viking FM Breakfast presenter, Jim Coulson said: “The Big Audition is not only a great opportunity for a local band or singer to showcase their talent to a huge audience, but it will also help to raise lots of money for a great cause.
“Viking FM and Magic 1161’s Cash For Kids really does make a difference to children in this area and what better way to contribute than displaying the vast array of talent that is about in Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.”
The local heats will take place in February at a number of venues around Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire before a live grand finale, where the eventual winner will be chosen by a panel of judges.
People will be able to vote for their favourite act by making a donation to Viking FM and Magic 1161’s Cash For Kids at any of the live events and then later via a text or online donation.
Anybody wanting to enter the competition can do so on the Viking FM or Magic 1161 websites at www.vikingfm.co.uk/BigAudition or www.magic1161.co.uk/BigAudition.
