Dove House Hospice wants people on their feet and dancing for their Zumba versus Bokwa fitness day this January.
Zumba may have already taken the area by storm but the brand new dance fitness class Bokwa is being launched in Beverley and the East Riding in aid of the hospice.
Everyone who wants to get fit and feel good, from beginners to experts, are encouraged to kick start their new year’s resolutions and work off some of the Christmas excess for a great cause.
Bokwa is a brand new fitness class, which involves no complex choreography and no counting steps. Participants draw letters and numbers with their feet, while moving together to music in free form rhythm. It’s fast but fun and a great way to involve your friends and family in a new activity that gets your whole body moving.
Becky Baynes, fundraising coordinator at Dove House Hospice, said ‘I’ve tried Bokwa and its great fun for everyone regardless of ability or fitness. The instructors get everyone in the class class moving and we hope this will be a great way for everyone to beat the winter blues and support their local hospice. If you’ve promised to start a new fitness regime or start a new healthy diet in 2013, this is an opportunity to try something new and begin to make those promises a reality. Simply put on your trainers, come to Beverley Leisure Centre, and bring along your friends and family too!’
The classes will be at Beverley Leisure Centre on Saturday 26th January 2012 at 1pm. Tickets are £5 for two 45 minute classes and, with the instructors giving their time for free, all funds raised from the event will be going to Dove House Hospice.
Tickets to be purchased on the day of the event at Beverley Leisure Centre but those interested are asked to register by contacting the fundraising team on 01482 785743 or emailing fundraising@dovehouse.org.uk. Find out more at www.dovehouse.org.uk/fitness.
