Members of staff from the Defence School of Transport have recently received their awards in PGCE and Cert Ed at the Beverley Minster.
These qualifications are not a mandated requirement for teaching at DST, however, instructors looking for personal development will find this an invaluable path to enhance their knowledge, skills and raise their potential.
The PGCE and CertEd courses are spread over a 2 year period and involve evening and weekend working and formal work based observations.
There are 4 modules per year, covering topics such as: Planning to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, Theories and Principles of Teaching, Developing Specialist Skills Assessment for Learning, Curriculum Design & Development.
