Beverley RUFC visit Cleckheaton on Saturday for a difficult North 1 (East) fixture with some serious selection problems. Influential back row man David Worrall is unavailable due to his brother’s wedding and, although this was always known and planned for at Tuesday’s nights’ training.
Several more key players announced their unavailability due to a variety of reasons, and James Holland who was set to return after several weeks on the sidelines tweaked a hamstring and is also extremely doubtful.
Head Coach Anthony Posa said ‘Its extremely frustrating, injuries and unavailabilities are always a coach’s headache but when they occur in similar positions it tends to turn more into a nightmare. We are always looking at our positives though and rather than feel sorry for ourselves we look at this as the exact reason we have built a large squad. There are no easy fixtures in this league and Cleckheaton away is definitely one of the more difficult ones; but it just means our fringe players who come in will have to step up to the plate if we are to obtain anything from the game.”
