Jordan Rushby is a 15 year old motorbike racer from Beverley who is riding high after his success in the 2012 season.
Jordan finished 1st in the Derby Phoenix Formula 125cc race series championship in 2012 – a competition where he competed across the country at some of the biggest track circuits in the UK. Following on from the successful year, Jordan will be stepping up to the larger, faster, SV650 Mini Twin bikes for the 2013 race season.
These bikes often race at tracks at Superbike weekends, and offer potential for TV coverage as well rubbing shoulders with some of the well-known motorbike racers and teams.
With a step up to the bigger bike comes a bigger investment in track fees, new bikes, and transport for him and his team on race days – some of the individual race fees cost upwards of £300 each, and with around 30 race dates in the calendar it can be an extremely costly sport for a 15 year old and his father Nigel to fund – in fact this season will cost upwards of £15,000.
This is where the local companies have been stepping in to help out with sponsorship and donating their products, skills and time to get ready for the season opener this weekend at Mallory Park in Leicestershire.
Local company Euro-Fit Systems sponsored Jordan, his website, and his bike in the 2012 season, and the success of winning the championship has seen them once again become Jordan’s main sponsor for the upcoming race year.
Euro-Fit’s Marketing Manager Gareth Jones had this to say:
“We are very proud to be involved with Jordan for a 2nd year, especially after the success he achieved last season with winning the national championship, so we had no hesitation in helping him with the new season. The new bike looks great, and we wish Jordan well at the first race of the season this weekend”
Many other local businesses have also jumped on board to offer sponsorship with Jordan for 2013, Alliance Steel Services are a Hull based steel fabricators who have also backed him for a number of years, as well support from Beverley designer Mark Wainwright at PaintFiction, who hand painted Jordan’s new bike and custom helmet design.
Hull company Vision Graphics have donated their skills to print all the stickers for the bike and van, and Complete Camper Van Conversions in Hull have donated their time and effort to build a new living quarters into the race van for Jordan and his dad to live whilst travelling the country.
Jordan is always on the lookout for help with his racing year, and is keen to work with local companies as much as he can, so if your local company can offer assistance please get in touch with his father Nigel Rushby on 07793 563104.
Packages can be from as little as £150 for a race day sponsorship but will make a huge contribution to the potential success of Jordan’s season. For more information please visit his website at www.jordanrushby.co.uk
