A local business has been short-listed for a national award for Excellence in Independent Retailing.
Ceramic Tile Merchants, a Beverley based tile retailer, entered the UK Tile Association’s 2013 Annual Awards which, according to the judges, were some of the most fiercely contested ever.
The judges said, “The entries present exceptionally high standards this year and judging has finally drawn to a close after some difficult decisions being made.”
Ceramic Tile Merchants’ recent showroom and facilities investments, which create a strong base for the supply of tiles to Hull and Yorkshire were recognised as being important factors worthy of real recognition.
According to Garry Cammidge, Ceramic Tile Merchants’ managing director, “Despite the continuing recession, we made major investments in 2012 which included a brand new tile retail showroom aimed at making shopping for tiles a rewarding experience. We also invested heavily in our web presence so we are very pleased that the judges recognised our efforts and the quality service we are offering”
The company has been short-listed along with four others but is the only retailer in Yorkshire, The Humber and the North East of England.
