Posa Remains Focused On Winning Despite Being Crowned Champions

Having secured the League Championship by defeating Keighley last Saturday Beverley RUFC have three games remaining, the first of which is at home to Wheatley Hills this Saturday Kick-off 3 p.m.

Whilst one may think that, with the pressure apparently off, the Beavers will take things a little easy in their remaining fixtures, this will be far from the case. Two of their opponents in the next three weeks are still in the hunt for a play off place to decide the second promotion spot.

Wheatley Hills this Saturday and Sheffield the next Saturday are both challenging for that position and Head Coach Anthony Posa said yesterday,

“I will be impressing upon the lads that, quite apart from wishing to complete the season unbeaten at home, we owe it to those in contention for the play off position to continue to treat each game as we have all season.”

“We wish to win and collect 5 points from each of the three games, nothing less!”

Notwithstanding that, this Saturday will be a good fun day. Apart from celebrating the first teams success, it is Ladies Day at the club and a large turnout of ladies dressed to kill is anticipated!

Beverley RUFC v Wheatley Hills (home) Kick-off 3pm.
