Restaurant owners, Julian and Rieko said that it has been an absolute pleasure having the children of Hull Collegiate join us in learning how to make sushi.
Head chef Toshimasa. who has cooked for many famous people said;
“It was exciting teaching the children not only how to make the sushi, but showing them just how tasty and healthy it can be!” The kids seemed to have really enjoyed making the sushi and then of course, eating what they had made.”
“We do hope they have gone away knowing a little bit more about Japan’s cultural background and the type of food they eat.”
The children also learned that Japanese food isn’t all about “sushi and raw fish” as some may assume! It is just one of many types of food eaten in Japan and served in the restaurant – Beef Teriyaki, Pork Katsu Curry and Yaki Udon Noodles are to name but a few.
Julian Ogino-Stamford said;
“Japanese food has gradually become extremely popular and right “on-trend” in big cities, and here in Beverley we are offering high- end, top quality Japanese cuisine using local produce.”
“As Ogino’s popularity grows, we are now welcoming lots of new as well as regular customers, and even our fair share of visiting local stars!”
“Websites such as ‘Trip Advisor’ shows what customers really think of the restaurant, and our recent nomination in the REYTA Tourism awards in the category “Most Remarkable Restaurant of the Year” category speaks volumes for us.”
