Tesco Beverley’s Fruit Friends Challenge Raises £470 For Diabetes UK

Tesco’s Beverley store, together with all other Tesco stores in the UK were taking part in a fruit friends challenge last Saturday in a bid to raise money for Diabetes UK, Tesco’s national charity partner.

Staff from the Morton Lane store were challenged to dress up as giant fruit to help raise awareness of the condition and a variety of fundraising activities were held to support the day. A total of £470 was raised in customer donations.

Dave Ryley, Tesco Beverley’s Community Champion, said:

“We would like to thank all of our customers who donated their money on Saturday and helped make the day such a success. Both Tesco and Diabetes UK really do appreciate your support.”

Diabetes UK’s Director of Fundraising, Paul Amadi, said:

“The Fruit Friends challenge was the first big activity as part of the national charity partnership between Tesco and Diabetes UK, and I am delighted that so many Tesco customers in Beverley showed their support.”
