Beverley went to East Hull and came away with the spoils in a rough game that just about simmered under boiling point for its entirety.
Outplaying their opponents in every facet of the game, the Braves scored three tries to one and in all honesty probably should have had a couple more.
Man of the match Alex Nuttall had a stormer, particularly in the second period when he just steamed into the defensive line time and time again and showed what he is capable of. He was not on his own though and in the hard tackling quartet of Isaac Merryweather, Ellis Gaden, Charlie Gay and the irrepressible Josh Hamlyn the Braves lived up to their names and never took a backward step all night.
Scrum Half Cain Robb continued his fine form, inspiring his team mates touching down twice, the first after a wonderful bootlace pick up from a cross field kick and the latter after a jinking run down the right wing to score in the corner, Alexei Rawlings scored the other try, getting on the end of a nice right to left passing movement to dive in at the left corner flag. Tom Nuttall was successful in kicking the only goal of the night.
Bryan Usher managed to get a lot more minutes under his belt and gave everything in the middle of the field after slotting in at hooker and virtually tackled everything that moved in green and white in a fine display from the youngster. Onwards and upwards.
Coach Craig Collins was heard to say afterwards ‘’ The way to get things done is to not mind who gets the credit for doing them’’
Final Score : Hull Dockers 4, Beverley Braves 14
