Thompson Fires Inter To Cup Glory

Beverley’s Inter Beaver won the Vice-President’s Cup thanks to a double strike from Luke Thompson at the Roy West Centre, home of the East Riding County FA.

Inter started the game well though as the sun dipped so did the quality of football with the half time break not coming fast enough.

The second half sprung into life when Inter were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box. Up stepped Thompson, after a short pause, he lashed the ball curling it past the keeper to give his side the lead.

A short time later Thompson again found himself in front of goal and calmly placed the ball past the on rushing keeper to all but the match as a contest.

With Royal Charter 101 pressing to get back into the game Inter boss Lewis Jenkinson replaced a tire Stew Scott with the energetic Tom Davies.

Davies slotted in right away but was let down badly with his finishing as he failed to convert a string of chances.

None of it mattered; Inter had done enough to bring the prestigious trophy back to Beverley.

Final Score: Royal Charter 101 0 Inter Beaver 2
