Beverley Town Cricket Club 2nds put in a much improved performance at home to Bridlington 1st XI scoring 266 for 4 in their 48 overs. Congratulations to Mike Cooke who scored his first ton for Beverley, Phil Du Boulay (63) gave great support.
Bridlington pushed Beverley all the way and on several occasions looked in good positions before settling for 246 for 9. 24 pts to Town, 17 for the visitors.
Andy Burton secured his first win as 3rds skipper following a successful run chase after South Holderness made 225. Paul Fleming’s half century and Kev Thompson’s 49 set the tone and useful contributions came throughout the batting line up before young last pair Brad Graham and Matty Saint saw Town home by the narrowest of margins, one wicket.
Almost 1000 runs scored at the Norwood Recreation Ground is testament to the hard work put in by Morri and others in preparing such good tracks.
