Antony Barton and Amalia Booker are celebrating after their Wednesday Market gift shop, Amanti scooped a national award for Best Retailer Initiative.
Based in Wednesday Market, Beverley the shop saw off competition from around the country and were one of just five businesses to be short listed and were invited to the prestigious awards ceremony held at The Savoy Hotel, London.
The award is in acknowledgement for their efforts to bring together and help promote local independent traders in Beverley.
Amalia said;
“We are of course delighted to win; it is very positive for the town to be able to bring back this award.”
Their work in promoting independent traders continues, recently both Antony and Amalia started a blog, Little & Local, where they document how they are using small independent shops to for fill their day to day shopping needs.
Now the giant silver trophy sits proudly in the window of their shop, and they hope their continued efforts will help promote not only themselves but other retailers in the town to residents of Beverley and visitors alike.
