Wawne United have won the East Riding County League Premier Division thanks a to a 4 – 1 win over Beverley Town Reserves.
United went into the game without their talisman Sam Bennett, who is currently serving a ban but cruised to victory thanks to three goals from Matty Crane and goal from Matthew Ellerington.
Crane said after the game;
“We have had a top season; it has been a massive team effort from everyone involved. This is the cherry on the cake and goes nicely with the two cups we have already won.”
“It has a been a great campaign and a real pleasure to play with these lads.”
Wawne completed the season losing just one game, Beverley Town Reserves finishing third in the league.
