Traders from North Bar Witin are counting the days until the newly formed Georgian Quarter is officially opened by the chairman of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Claude Mole.
On June 15th from 10am, until 4pm live music, cat walk shows and other entertainment will take place as the retailers pull together in an attempt to raise the awareness and increase visitors to their part of town.
Susan Elvidge, who owns dress exchange agency, The Beverley Dresser told HU17.net;
“All of us are really looking forward to the event. It should be a fun and colourful day with models walking through the streets.”
It is not just the fashion retailers who are going to be showcasing their goods, restaurant Rolandos will also use the day to officially launch their all new home made Italian Ice Cream.
All being well the 15th will also see the newly renovated Corronation Gardens re-opened to the public.
Retailers set to take part in the fashion show include the Beverley Dresser, Ticket, Babour and Naninni and who will all be allocated a one slot during the day with models that have been hired in from an outside agency.
Susan added;
“We are all working hard collectively to promote the high street where we all trade.”
“The re-branding will hopefully increase awareness of what is here and the unique shopping and eating experience on offer.”
Beverley Fashion Week are also lending their support to the event. Michelle Blackford who organises the award-winning fashion event has agreed to send additional models to the event to some of the retailers.
Michelle said;
“As the owner of the Beverley based model and events company, The Pink Elephant Agency it is my absolute pleasure in supporting fellow businesses such as Susan at The Beverley Dresser. “
“I personally shop and eat in the soon to be Georgian Quarter and think it is such a beautiful part of the town centre, and hopefully the area will continue to thrive.”

Fashionista’s from across the region can enjoy Beverley Fashion Week this year from July 22nd until 27th which all ends with special finale at Beverley Racecourse on the Saturday.
