Large crowds descended on Beverley Racecourse for a themed meeting called A Very British Raceday.
The theme was red, white and blue and some race goers got into the swing of things dressing up in the colours of the Union Jack!
On the track ahead of the main racing the Donkey Derby was held and like last year the jockeys found it difficult to get their mounts the required one furlong up the track!
The meeting also featured Elusive Bonus, a horse owned by Beverley Syndicate, but it failed to make any impression in the 2.35 Fillies’ Handicap Stakes.
Despite the sun only making brief appearances the meeting at Beverley Racecourse was very well attended and the atmosphere was helped by the free entertainment and stilt walkers that were dressed in Union Jack style clothing.
Racing will return the Beverley Westwood course next week as Beverley Races host and afternoon of horse racing on the 12th June.
