Beverley Town Cricket Club 2nd XI earned a losing draw against Whitkirk 1st XI in the York & District Senior Cricket League – 1st Division.
Town won the toss and put the visitors into bat on a lovely wicket at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Richard Simpson made a century for Whitkirt scoring 108 before he was stumped by Phil Duboulay.
Beverley struggled when it was their turn to bat and at one point found themselves 82/4 but recovered well to hold out for a winning draw. Top scorer for Beverley was Ben Fish who ground out a gritty 49.
