Beverley Town Cricket Club 3rd XI put in a poor batting display against Sutton 1st XI at the Norwood Recreation Ground but still almost managed to secure a win with a spirited comeback in the field.
Will Smith was top scorer with 39 as the top order largely engineered their own downfall with some dubious shot selection and Town made only 100 all out.
Kieran O’Brian took 5 for 22 to put the 3rds in with a real chance of winning but Sutton eventually prevailed by 3 wickets.
