Fielding-Smith Wins Beverley AC Duathlon

The annual Beverley AC Duathlon was held on 26th June.

This is a tough test which starts at Skidby Mill and consists of a 2 mile run, followed by a 10 mile bike ride, then a 2 mile run.

The 10 mile bike ride follows the course of the Ferriby 10 running road race, the 2 mile run is a repeat circuit through Skidby and round the back fields, off road on some pretty uneven, rutted tracks. The race is open to individuals and teams of 2.

Overall winner was Pete Fielding Smith in a total time 0f 54:37, faster than any of the teams. 1st lady was Samantha Allen in 1:08:08. 1st team was Andy Johnson (run) and Kristian Davis (bike) in 56:02.

There was also a welcome return in his 2nd competitive event for Olly Johnston, who teamed up with Lucas Meagor.

Olly continues to rehabilitate himself following a horrendous car crash in Spain 18 months ago, from which he was lucky to escape with his life.
