An election will be held in Beverley on the 15th August to fill the vacancy on Beverley Town Council after Cllr Stuart Pearce resigned his seat due to work commitments.
More than enough signatures were collected to force the election, any wishing to stand for Beverley Tow Council and take part in the elections can do so by following one of the processes listed below.
1. An election is to be held for a Town Councillor for Beverley Town, St Marys East Ward.
2. Nomination papers may be obtained from Electoral Services, County Hall, Beverley, East Riding Of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4pm (excluding Bank Holidays).
Alternatively, nomination papers may also be obtained from the town clerk Ms Helen Watson ,12 Well Lane, Beverley, HU17 9BL.
3. Nomination papers must be delivered to Electoral Services, County Hall, Beverley, East Riding Of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA on any day after the date of this notice, Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4pm (excluding Bank Holidays), but not later than NOON on the 19 JULY 2013.
4. If an election is contested, the poll will take place on the 15 August 2013.
5. New applications to vote by post and requests to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, County Hall, Beverley by 5 pm on the 31JULY 2013, if they are to be effective for this election. This is also the last date for NEW electors to the area to register for this election.
6. New applications to vote by proxy except on the grounds of a medical emergency must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, County Hall, Beverley by 5 pm on the 7 AUGUST 2013, if they are to be effective for this election.
7. Applications to vote by proxy on the grounds of a medical emergency must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services County Hall Beverley by 5 pm on the 15 AUGUST 2013 if they are to be effective for this election.
