James Neal Exhibition: People And Places

Beverley Art Gallery

Beverley Art Gallery will be hosting a James Neal exhibition from Saturday, 13 July until 21 September, with the official opening launch taking place on 13 July between 1pm and 3pm.

Born in Islington in London, James Neal initially came to the East Riding when he was stationed in the region during the Second World War.

He trained at St. Martin’s and the Royal College of Art, exhibiting with the London Group and the New English Art Club.

Neal moved back to Yorkshire in 1958, when he took up a teaching position at Hull Regional College of Art.

This exhibition pays homage to Neal who died in October 2011.

Undoubtedly the region’s most distinctive, gifted and prolific artist, this exhibition will feature works from private collections – much of which has not been seen for a generation.

All are welcome to this exhibition which takes place at Beverley Art Gallery, Champney Road, Beverley HU17 8HE
